UptimeRobot alternative

SSO is still an open feature request on UptimeRobot. It's included on HeimPulse's Business plan.

UptimeRobot's free tier is genuinely hard to beat — 50 monitors, no credit card. This is the honest comparison for the specific moment you need enforced single sign-on, or you'd rather not track per-seat and SMS-credit costs as your team grows.

Stick with UptimeRobot if
  • —50 free monitors covers what you need, and you don't expect to need SSO
  • —You're monitoring port/TCP, DNS records, cron/heartbeat, keyword, or page-change checks today
  • —You want built-in SMS or voice-call alerts now, not a PagerDuty integration coming later
  • —Long raw data retention matters more to you than 90 days of public uptime history — UptimeRobot advertises up to 24 months on paid plans
Switch to HeimPulse if
  • —You need enforced org-wide SSO now — it's a shipped feature here, not a request on a feedback board
  • —You don't want team seats billed per person past a small included count
  • —You want a distinct degraded-performance signal and auto-resolve, not a response-time check bundled in alongside "down"
  • —HTTP(S) and SSL are genuinely all you're monitoring

Incident detection Rechecks a failure across multiple checker locations before opening an incident, to cut false alarms Sliding-window detection that weighs several recent checks to separate a real outage from a blip, plus a distinct degraded-performance signal and auto-resolve
Data retention 3 months (Free), 12 months (Solo), 24 months (Team/Scale) — UptimeRobot's own pricing page doesn't specify exactly what this covers 90 days of status-page uptime history on every plan, plus raw check-result logs for 1 day (Free), 7 (Pro), or 14 (Business)
What UptimeRobot still does better
  • An enormous free tier — 50 monitors at a 5-minute interval, free forever, no credit card. HeimPulse's free plan caps at 3 services with 3 endpoints each.
  • Far more monitor types — port/TCP, DNS record, cron/heartbeat, keyword, response-time, and website-change detection, on top of HTTP(S) and SSL.
  • Built-in SMS and voice-call alerts from the Free plan up (metered credits), plus Slack, Telegram, MS Teams, Zapier, and PagerDuty. HeimPulse ships email/webhook/Slack today, with PagerDuty forwarding coming soon.
  • Materially longer advertised retention — 3 to 24 months depending on plan, though UptimeRobot's own pricing page doesn't say whether that's raw check logs, incident history, or something else. HeimPulse keeps 90 days of public status-page uptime history flat on every plan, plus raw check-result logs for 1–14 days depending on tier.
What HeimPulse adds
  • Enforced org-wide SSO, included flat on Business ($99/mo). SSO isn't on any UptimeRobot plan today — it's an open request on UptimeRobot's own feedback board.
  • No per-seat charges — 10 team members included on Pro ($29/mo), 50 on Business ($99/mo). UptimeRobot's Free and Solo plans include zero login seats; Team's three included seats cost extra past that.
  • Sliding-window incident detection with a distinct degraded-performance signal and auto-resolve — not a response-time check bundled in alongside "down."

If you're moving from UptimeRobot

What actually changes, not just what's on the comparison table.

Port/TCP, DNS record, cron/heartbeat, keyword, and website-change checks don't have a home yet. HeimPulse only checks HTTP(S) endpoints and SSL/TLS certificates today, so anything watched with one of UptimeRobot's other monitor types stays wherever it is until HeimPulse ships that check type.

SMS and voice-call alerts go away. HeimPulse's channels are email, webhook, and Slack, with PagerDuty forwarding coming soon on Pro/Business. If you're paging via SMS or a phone call today, that's a gap to plan around, not a like-for-like swap.

Raw check-log history gets shorter. UptimeRobot's paid plans advertise 12–24 months of retention (scope unspecified). HeimPulse's public status-page uptime history stays at 90 days flat on every plan, but the raw check-result logs behind it top out at 14 days on Business.

Password-protected status pages aren't available on either side, but for different reasons. UptimeRobot gates them behind its Team plan (€35–41/mo). HeimPulse doesn't have a private or password-protected status page option at all yet — every page is public. If that's a hard requirement, neither tool covers it the way you need today.

Frequently asked questions

Is this page trying to talk you out of UptimeRobot?

No. UptimeRobot has a genuinely enormous free tier — 50 monitors, no credit card — and covers more monitor types than HeimPulse does today, from DNS records to cron heartbeats to website-change detection. If that free tier already covers what you need, or you don't need enforced SSO, it's a solid, well-established choice. This page is for the specific moment you need SSO, or you'd rather not track per-seat and SMS-credit costs as your team grows.

What monitor types does HeimPulse actually support today?

HTTP(S) checks — status code, latency, header, and body assertions — plus a separate SSL/TLS certificate expiry check that does a real handshake against a host independent of any HTTP monitoring. Port/TCP, DNS record, cron/heartbeat, keyword, and website-change checks aren't built yet. If you need those today, UptimeRobot already has them.

Does UptimeRobot have SSL certificate monitoring?

Yes — included from the Solo plan up (€9/mo), alerting 30/14/7 days before expiry. It's not included on the free plan. HeimPulse also does a dedicated SSL/TLS check, on Pro and Business, not Free.

Does UptimeRobot support SSO?

No — not on any published plan, including the custom-quote Enterprise tier. Single sign-on is an open feature request on UptimeRobot's own feedback board, not a shipped capability. HeimPulse includes enforced organization-wide SSO (any standard OIDC provider) flat on its $99/mo Business plan.

Is there a free plan?

Yes — 3 services with 3 endpoints each, one region, one status page, and a day of check history, no credit card required.
